The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

Today (June 27) is the feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. In 1672, Our Lord appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, making these 12 promises to souls devoted to His Most Sacred Heart:

1. I will grant them all the graces necessary for their state in life.
2. I will establish peace in their families.
3. I will console them in all their difficulties.
4. I will be their secure refuge during their life, and especially at the hour of death.
5. I will shower abundant blessings upon all their undertakings.
6. Sinners will find, in My Heart, the source of an infinite Ocean of Mercy.
7. Tepid souls shall become fervent.
8. Fervent souls shall rise speedily to great perfection.
9. I will bless every place in which the image of my Sacred Heart is exposed and honoured.
10. I will give priests the power to touch the most hardened of hearts.
11. Persons who propagate this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart.
12. I will grant the grace of final repentance to all those who receive Holy Communion on the first Friday of nine consecutive months. They shall not die in mortal sin, nor without having received their last Sacraments, for My Divine Heart will become their secure refuge in the last moment.
