The Feast of Corpus Christi

The Feast of Corpus Christi (The Body of Christ) was established by Pope Urban the 4th in the 13th century. It celebrates the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist and is commemorated by adoring Christ publicly. Processions happen throughout the Catholic communities and we spend time in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

The establishment of this Feast began with St. Juliana of Mount Cornillon who had a great love for The Eucharist.

Bethlehem Crucifix

At a young age, this Augustinian nun experienced visions of our Lord, who desired a feast in honour of the Most Blessed Sacrament. After repeated visions, the Miracle of Bolsena occurred when a consecrated host bled onto the corporal on the altar. Soon after, the Feast of Corpus Christi was established on the Thursday following Trinity Sunday.
The image of Christ on the cross reminds us of the suffering endured by Him for our salvation. This crucifix is 12" high made of reconstituted stone.

Christ Pantocrator

This icon is the most common of the Byzantine representations, and ranks among those of Christ in Glory. His look alludes to judgement, and His right hand held in blessing, shows His tender authority. Christ holds the Gospel, a testament to its truth, and indicating He is the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets. The red tunic depicts divinity as well as His shed blood for us. The green cloak represents His humanity. The original, painted in 1260, is in an iconostasis in the monastery of Chilandar, on Mount Athos.

Holy Face Detente

This fabric Holy Card is skillfully crafted and features a reparation prayer on it's reverse side for the faithful to reflect upon Christ's miraculous power as well as connect with Him.

"May the Most Holy, Most Sacred, Most Adorable, Most Incomprehensible, Ineffable Name of God be forever praised, blessed, loved, adored, glorified, in Heaven, on Earth, under the Earth by all the creatures of God, by The Sacred Heart of Our Lord, Jesus Christ in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.

Amen."
