January marks the month of the Most Holy Name of Jesus with the Feast day on the 3rd. This Feast was originally celebrated on January 2nd. In the liturgical revisions of Vatican II, this Feast was removed.
With the release of the revised Roman Missal in March 2002, the Feast was restored on January 3rd. Devotion to the Holy Name is rooted in the scriptures.
