Our Lady of Grace

In 1830 Our Lady appeared to St. Catherine Laboure and told her to commission the "Miraculous Medal." This image has come to be known as "Our Lady of Grace" because Our Lady assures that those who wear the medal with confidence will receive great grace. It is also known as Notre Dame de la Rue de Bac (Our Lady of Bac Street) since this is the site of the Marian apparition. Traditionally portrayed as striking down the demon, Our Lady of Grace is a representation of the Virgin Mary with a powerful protection. This statue is 10 1/2" high with Our Lady in a dark blue cloak crafted in reconstituted stone by the nuns in the monasteries of Bethlehem in France.
