Our Mother of Perpetual Help Oval Paper Lace Holy Card (Pack of Two)

The image of Our Mother of Perpetual help is of a 15th century Byzantine Icon from the island of Crete. Tradition states that it was stolen from Crete and brought to Rome in 1495. The thief fell ill and before he died, he asked a friend to have the Icon placed in a worthy Church. When this did not occur, the Virgin Mary appeared to the friend’s family members to make the same request, warning them that they would die if her wish wasn’t honoured. Mary’s wish was granted and the icon was the source of numerous miracles upon its placement in the Church of St. Matthew the Apostle.
